Interesting Finds on the internet

Since Chloe's napping and there are a million things I SHOULD be doing....but none that I FEEL like doing....I'm going to dedicate this blog post to my amazing writer of a cousin, Ellie.
These are some of the sites I check on a regular basis my dear cousin Ellie!! (I'm not talented or patient enough to get cute pictures next to each one, so you'll just have to deal with links..... OH...and if you press ctrl while you click on it, it makes a new window instead of leaving)

1. PostSecret
Every Sunday they post new postcard secrets on the webpage. I've never actually purchased one of the books....but I've certainly flipped through them a time or two while sipping coffee at Barnes and Noble. Some can be strange....graphic....TMI....touching....inspiring.... but I love peeking at them every Sunday!

2. Shoebox Blog You know the Hallmark cards that are Shoebox....the hilarious ones?! (I could browse through them for hours...I love picking out cards) anyway....back to my point..... This is their blog....they post funny snippets about the days headlines, amusing links, card ideas that almost made it into print....amusing cartoons, etc. If you're ever in need of a laugh....I can usually find one here.

3. UncommonGoods This is my anthropologie... :) I wish that everytime I needed to get someone a gift I could order from here..... They have absolutely fabulous stuff!! Gifts for every occasion....for her, for him, new baby, kids, housewarming, kitchenwares, decor, etc. Some of it is rather spendy....but there are also some reasonable items. They even have a literary version of balderdash Liebrary (totally makes me think of you Ellie!).....with the title, author, and synopsis given to you....everyone in the group each makes up a first line of that book.....and one person reads them all including the real first line and you have to pick which one you think is the real one....LOVE it! (Of course this might only be fun for book nerds like Ellie and I)....

4. ParisDailyPhoto This is where I get my daily dose of Paris....the blogger takes a photo somewhere in the city every day and posts it. I keep dreaming that maybe someday Aaron and I can live on the Seine in Paris.....and I wouldn't even have to twist his arm....he wants to move there too! I need to brush up on my French....and teach it to Aaron....and someday we'll have a place in one of the arondissements right on the river.....sigh.

5. ThreePotatoFour Think vintage Etsy shop...think wicked awesome flea market finds. They collect all sorts of stuff.....haven't ever bought anything from them, but I wish I could!!

6. OhHappyDay! Can't remember where I came across this blog originally....but I love the stuff she posts! Her husband is an amazing artist....and they live in a one bedroom apartment on Nob Hill in San Francisco.....and it just sounds like the whimsical/posh sort of lifestyle I dream of having when the long Minnesota winter is getting me down.... On a side note, they just had baby #2 and he was born with a cleft lip/palate....which makes me realize anew that even seemingly "cool" people have stuff happen to them just like the rest of us.... (Ellie...she's also a serious polaroid fanatic!)

Lani...these are sites I frequent in ADDITION to all the friend/family blogs in my links section.... And I use bloglines....so I check that and it tells me when you have a new post...which I always read! :)

I'm flattered Jami! :) You definitely know me, I could probably play that Liebrary game over and over again, haha.
I love PostSecret too! I used to check it obsessively but I haven't in awhile.
All these other sites sound great, I'm saving them for when I'm back at work tonight. It'll give me something to look forward to!

Thanks for the shout-out! Miss you much...
